CC3 Challenge #4 - Layering Stencil: Texture Paste

The Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is here again! Our fourth challenge in this fun, creative series can be found on page 49 of the Compendium of Curiosities Volume III book, and it's all about some of my new favorite products: Texture Paste and Layered Stencils. While I can't share how the technique is done (that's for you to discover with your own CC3 book) I am happy to share my creation.

(Be sure to read all the details about this challenge at the end of my post.)

Since we're getting ready for our summer vacation to London (next week, eek!) I thought I'd get some artwork started for my eventual collection folio I'm planning from the trip. I'll be using the Large Collection Folio so I chose a giant manilla tag (#12 size) for this. My plan is to have this be the intro flap to the folio. I've been collecting stamps and washi tape, etc, before our trip, and am excited to gather memorabilia during our time there.

Texture paste (embossing paste, same thing) is sure some fun stuff and gives the coolest effect to just about anything. I took full advantage of the wonderful ephemera pieces in the new Expedition pack on my tag as well.

I've discovered a renewed love of rub-ons ever since the Idea-ology Remnant Rubs were introduced. Mostly I used the Words remnant rubs on my tag, but that little pen nib pointing at London on the globe is from the Elements rubs. These make great little quickie embellishments.

All the stamping on my tag is from the Stamper's Anonymous set "London Sites" (CMS158). You can imagine how nuts I went over this stamp set when my family decided on a trip to London! Had to have it. And I used every stamp in the set on my tag. The British flag washi tape across the bottom was a lucky Hobby Lobby find. More stenciling above and below the word London with the Measured stencil.

I can't wait to start my London adventure and gather little bits along the way for my folio. I hope you'll try this fun technique and join in the challenge.
