This week's Play Date Cafe color challenge uses a combination of colors I wouldn't normally put together, but as always provided a great way to step outside my comfort zone.
Here are the colors...
My coffee buddy Lisa Cerrato is having a birthday tomorrow so I made her this card...
Like many of you, I LOVE buying new products, but I struggle with serious guilt because I already have so much great stuff. So for this card, I used supplies I had on hand like buttons, sparkly brads, felt shapes and older papers. The only new thing here is a bit of a sneak peak. The "happy day" ticket and the stamped flourish above the flowers are both from the stamp set "You and Me" in Close To My Heart's upcoming National Scrapbook Month campaign in May. (More details to come.)
The stamped flowers are "Innoscents Flowers 2" from Heartfelt Creations. The colors I used are Close To My Heart's Sky, Tulip and Hollyhock.
Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your Tuesday and be sure to check out all the great artwork posted on the Play Date Cafe blog.
Annette, isn't amazing how much we crafters have in common with our card-making hobby/addiction? I feel guilty getting new stuff too, when I already own so much. I love how you chose to really focus on things you already owned for your friend's card. It's really pretty! Thanks for making time for us at The Play Date Cafe this week. :)
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely Annette! Those felt accents are so eye catching and your design is beautiful! Thanks for playing along with us at the Play Date Cafe!
ReplyDeleteLove how your swirl ends in that bunch of flowers and that you used a bit of felt to give it some dimension. Thanks so much for playing at The Play Date Cafe.
