Rare Oddities Halloween Banner

Hello and happy Friday to ya! Today my monthly Friday Follies group is making this fun Halloween banner. I thought I'd share it with you, even though I don't have the twine inserted in the pennants yet. But I think you'll get the idea.

(Be sure to click on the image to see a much larger view.)
I've used Graphic 45's new Rare Oddities collection in the 12 x 12 papers and the Chipboard 2, plus some fun Tim Holtz goodies that I'll tell you about in a sec.

Let's take a look at each pennant in the banner a little more closely...

I've used two different Idea-ology packs from Tim this season: Regions Beyond Fasteners (large brads, small brad gems, and small brad pearls) and Oddities Adornments (word charms and Halloween creatures). I've also worked in the Apothecary Remnant Rubs in the background.

I've incorporated a few die-cut pieces, also from Tim/Sizzix Alterations. You may have noticed the leaves in the first pennant, and the flourishes on this one. Both are from the Festive Greenery die. I've fussy cut some images from the Rare Oddities papers and layered them with varying levels of foam tape for interest and dimension.

The die cut branches are from the Autumn Gatherings die. You may have noticed by now that all these die cuts are cut from Black Kraft Core cardstock and lightly sanded for a distressed look.

The little skull & crossbones is from last year's Crossbones Adornments. It's attached to a clear fragment and dangling from a jump ring.

Do you see the little pumpkin charm? He's also from the Oddities Adornments. These are super cute and I can see why they are out of stock. I scrambled to get enough for my class today! And some of them are arriving this afternoon. Just in time!

This banner was so much fun to make and I can't wait to hang it up. I'll be using black craft cord I found at Hobby Lobby. I'll be sure to take another photo when it gets closer to Halloween. We're having a party for my daughter and her friends this year, so I'll have a lot to share!

Thanks for popping in today. Hope you liked the banner. Have a great weekend!
