CHA Recap 2 - All Things Tim Holtz

Hello again. Today is all about "the man" and his many companies: Ranger, Advantus/Idea-ology, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix, and Coats. Of course, I'm talking about Tim Holtz.

Talk about a show-stopper. The Ranger booth was HUGE and filled with some of the most gorgeous art I've seen. Three different demo stations with crowds of people surrounding Tim, Dyan Reaveley, Wendy Vecchi, and Dina Wakley to name a few. And the highlight of the day on Sunday was meeting Paul Cheney.

So let's get right to a tour of my favorite things from these booths…

Watching Tim is always fun. Such charm and wit. He really knows his stuff.

Some of my favorites among the new products he demoed was the marker spritzer the mini ink blending tool.

Had to snap a quick selfie while watching Tim. I'm not sure who the nice lady is next to me, but she was a gamer for the photo so it's all good.

I found my pal Jim the Gentleman Crafter right away and then we bumped into Eileen Hull, who was a pleasure to meet.

Dyan Reaveley was as colorful as ever. So kind of her to take a moment for a photo. Don't know why I got so close like that…. but she didn't seem to mind.

Jim, Dyan and Cesar glamming it up. By the way, Cesar was incredibly sweet and so easy to talk with. I felt like I'd known him for years.

On to the artwork! Holy cow, some really amazing stuff. Again, I didn't take time to investigate who the designers were for each piece, but I'm quite sure much of it came from Tammy Tutterow, Shelly Hickox, Richele Christenson, Kaz Hall, & Paula Cheney, to name just a handful. Incredibly talented folks, for sure!

This wall piece took my breath away. Stunning!

The new Letterpress collection of wooden type blocks are a must have.

The new Collection Folio was filled with travel goodies and ephemera. So inspiring, Paula Cheney!

And speaking of Paula, I was thrilled when she called out my name while I waited to do the make-n-take. We chatted a few minutes. It was such a pleasure to get to know her. She was incredibly kind and friendly. I wish I could hang out with her more.

The make-n-take was quite generous. We got to create our own cabinet card using the new ephemera, chip letters, and other wonderful Idea-ology products. Those heart charms are number 1 on my wish list!

The samples were all filled with this beautiful new paper collection called Wallflower. Oh my god, this was gorgeous stuff!

Wendy's new palette. Good reference photo to keep on hand.

Ranger held its traditional Designer Challenge with the theme of Distress Paint. Here were a few of my absolute favorites. Be sure to click on each one to get a closer look. They are fabulous!

A wall of delights. So many new and wonderful dies, stencils, texture fades, and stamps.
Oh!... my wallet is crying already.

Dina Wakley demoed her new line of paints, stencils and stamps. She works so effortlessly and she's so genuinely kind. I'm looking forward to attending her art journaling class in St. Petersburg, FL next month at Whim-so-doodle

Had to stop in and chat with Ted at the Stampers Anonymous booth for a few minutes.

Gonna have to get, well, ALL of these eventually.

Top 3 on my wish list.

As we strolled around the rest of the show, we came across the Coats booth and found this awesome display with Tim's Eclectic Elements collection. To our delight, they were handing out free fabric samples. I was happy to see the quality and softness of this line. Excellent!

Well, that's if for today. Stay tuned tomorrow for more. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to let me know what your favorites are. I'd love to know. Have a great day!
