Kraft Reflections Masculine Card

Last year, Graphic 45 came out with a Kraft Reflections collection of papers and I immediately bought a 12 x 12 pad of it. I love Kraft and I knew this would be a versatile paper with its simple black on kraft designs in the classic Graphic 45 vintage style. (It's a little hard to find now, but you can if you search. I linked you above to FotoBella which seems to have quite a few in stock.)

I loved it so much, I tucked it away in my G45 file of paper collections...

and then forgot all about it.

Until the other day.

I am always in need of masculine cards and the Kraft Reflections paper was the perfect choice. With the help of some (now retired) Close To My Heart buttons and pewter decorative brads and photo clip, this handsome card came together easily.

This picture wheel die by Sizzix Alterations has to be one of my favorites these days. I use it on everything! (see below) Here I cut it from the orange Core'dinations Signature Series card stock, gave it a light sanding to expose the core, then layered the diamond pattern paper (French Country 6 x 6 Patterns & Solids) behind the openings. The large clock face is cut from the Kraft Reflections paper and adhered to the center.

Back to the card...

I raked up the edges of the papers and the blue cardstock (also from the Signature Series collection) with an edge distressing tool, then inked them for added distress.

It makes me sad that such classic beautiful embellishments like these pewter decorative brads must eventually retire. Why must they? I could use a zillion of these throughout my lifetime, they're so gorgeous and timeless.

Behind this little tag is a pewter photo clip serving as a unique tag pull in which to tie my waxed thread and connect it to the clock's center. The stamped sentiment comes from Close To My Heart's Key Moments stamp set. I think it's the perfect saying for any card-giving occasion.

And let's not forget the inside of the card. A few strips of the same kraft paper and some stamping. Here I used the "Watch Set 1" stamp set from Rubbernecker Stamps. Later, when I know who this card will go to, I will add a stamped phrase inside like Happy Birthday or Congrats, etc.

That's it for me today. I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday. Thanks for stopping in.
