Stamp of the Month Blog Hop & Creative Girls Get-away

I've just returned from my one of my favorite times of the year. What has long been named Scrapper's Dream Vacation (SDV) has now become the Creative Girls Get-away. I'll share just a bit with you about that and then get on to the Blog Hop. If you'd rather skip by this, feel free and just scroll down to my Stamp of the Month creation.

Me and some of my favorite gal pals attend a big annual crop every fall and it's officially become a tradition now that it's our third year. We spend the entire weekend from early Friday morning until Sunday afternoon scrapbooking, shopping, eating, drinking, and laughing our butts off. I'll have to save a future post for more details, but for now I just wanted to share a few quick photos in honor of our friendship, and to thank each of you four girls for being who you are and sharing this weekend with me.

It's also our tradition to take a photo of us on the bed.
(Why they make me get on top of the pile, I have no idea.)
From left to right: Sherry, Cindy, Tiffany and Charmin.
Right after this photo they started bucking me off and I fell between the bed and the wall.
With friends like these...

These are the only photos in which we were all being fairly civilized and behaved. Dinner was served to us each evening in the dining room by the delightful wait staff. The food was outstanding and although our waiter denied it I still swear they put mashed potatoes in the lasagna.

The nightly tradition is lemon drops. Okay, I'm not sure about the order, and they didn't seem to be either, but it's something like "lick your hand, suck some sugar... no wait, rub lemon on your hand, suck your hand... no... rub lemon on your hand, sprinkle some sugar on it, suck your hand, take a shot of vodka, then suck the rest of the lemon wedge. As you can see, this confused me so I stuck with a simple glass of whiskey. Straight up. No licking. No sucking.

More on the Creative Girls Getaway in another post. Okay, now back to business!
The Close to my Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you're already hopping, you came here from Gina Brandstetter's blog. Keep scrolling through my post to see where to hop to next.

This month's stamp set is called "Very Merry Christmas" and it's the perfect set to start creating holiday cards. You can view all the images in this set in the right-hand column of my blog, and you can get the Stamp of the Month for only $5 with any $50 purchase from your CTMH consultant. Or simply purchase it at full retail for $17.95.

Here's a 5 x 7 card I created with this pretty stamp set with the help of my Cricut Artiste cartridge.

The papers are from the Pear & Partridge paper packet which I absolutely adore this season. One of my favorite things about this stamp of the month is that 5 of the large images all have coordinating Cricut cuts on the Artiste cartridge. Tags, ornaments, mittens and more. So easy!

Now to keep on hopping to get even more inspiration, go to Amy McVey's blog next.

  4. Love your comment Haley! We called her that for years, because that's exactly what she was named after. Our mother must have had some infatuation with TP. I think she even wrote a song about it. Charmin hates it, but we still laugh about it, lol!!!

  5. I love all the details of your card, but think that little paper bow is the best touch!
