Clear Card Day 3

I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of creating designs with clear cards. Don't take the word "challenge" as a sign of difficulty, it's just a matter of using your mind differently than it's used to. You now have to think in layers, which is actually quite fun.

Today's clear card is another square with rounded corners. This time the fold is at the top. I'm sticking with the same color scheme as the two previous cards posted this week since this is going to be my card workshop in August.

As I was designing this card (here's where the challenge comes into play) I started putting white foam tape on the backs of some of the circles that are on the front of the card. Oops, that white stuff is going to show through to the back, but I want them to pop up! So I just cut the same size circles as the front, stamped them pretty, and adhered them to the inside front right in line with the others. This solved it quite nicely.

That big swoosh is stamped right on the front of the clear card first, using Black Staz-on. The black words and phrases are rub-ons. (See products list below.)

For the inside of the card, I placed the Desert Sand cardstock to the very back of the card which allows for a cool, shiny inside. I used some more circles for stamping, making sure to line them up with the ones on the front. The biggest circle would be a good place to write a short sentiment or sign your name. The smallest circle is stamped with Black Staz-on in line with the clear button on the front. Tricky? No, I just used the negative space on a piece of scrap cardstock from a punched circle as a template to line them up, then stamped in the "hole." The little flower inside is also stamped with Staz-on, only Brown this time.

The black scallop border is a rub-on. On the rub-on sheet there are two of these scallop borders. Each is a long 12-inch piece. I simply cut four pieces at four inches long each, then used just one scallop to join them at the corners. This was a big tedious, but I'm happy with the results.
