Rare Oddities - Not just for Halloween

Graphic 45's new Rare Oddities collection is perfect for all sorts of fun Halloween creations. In fact, I've just finished a fun Halloween banner that I'll be sharing this Friday, BUT it isn't JUST for Halloween. I've created two fun birthday cards that I've love to share with you today.

Although the zombie stamps make us think of Halloween, this is a birthday card for my friend Patty (who absolutely LOVES Halloween). It measures 7" x 5".

This 6" x 6" one is for my hubby Paul, whose birthday is today! No signs of Halloween here.

The zombies are from a stamp set I found at Stamp Fest this year by Sugar Pea Designs. I knew when I saw it, I just had to have it. They are so fun to color in with markers I could make a million of them!

All the sentiments in the set are fun too. Things like: "I chews you 'till death do us part" and "My love for you with Never Die" and "I'm brain dead. Sorry I forgot your birthday" and finally "You have my Undying gratitude. I'm dead serious." Cute, eh?

The cake stamp is an old favorite from Close To My Heart called "Piece of Cake." After coloring and cutting it out, I popped it up with foam tape. And popped up the girl zombie as well.

The inside of the card is simple yet pretty. I hope Patty likes this custom card made just for her.

Back to Paul's card. My Paul is definitely a rare fella. Not the typical guy. Funny, definitely a guy's guy, and a unique-thinking individual. So I consider him my Rare Oddity. The stamps used here are from Rare Oddities Clear Stamp 2 from Hampton Art. Lost of great sentiments in this set too.

I've used the Rare Oddities 6 x 6 Patterns and Solids and some of the 12 x 12 collection here. Paul is spelled out with the alphabet stickers in the sticker sheet. I used my 5/8" circle punch to add black cardstock circles around the letters to make them pop.

I worked in a little Tim Holtz embellishment here and there, just because his stuff just goes so well with the vintage goodness of Graphic 45. Don't you agree?

The inside of the card coordinates nicely, and not a hint of Halloween, right? The Happy Birthday stamps in both cards are from Close To My Heart's "Joyful Birthday" set.

So, although I'm a HUGE Halloween fan, I love it when Graphic 45 collections are versatile enough for other occasions and creations.

That's it for me today. Come on back on Friday and I'll share that Halloween banner I mentioned earlier. Thanks for stopping in today. Have a great day!
